Karlville showcases new K3 Plus Seamer
The seamer's new innovations reduce wear, improve seam quality, and enable faster, more consistent setups with minimal waste.
Karlville is showcasing its latest K3 PLUS Seamer at Labelexpo Europe.
Karlville has helped advance the evolution of shrink sleeve seamers by introducing the third-generation seamer in 2018. Second-generation seamers have limitations, including lengthy changeovers, friction issues, and operator dependency. These lead to key challenges in the industry, including offset seams, raised lip seams, inconsistencies in solvent application, and poor perforation quality.
The third-generation seamer addresses these issues with a friction-free, fingerless forming system, automated lay-flat correction, and non-stop layout capabilities. It features multiple tension zones, precise solvent application using brush tips, and optional laser integration for accurate, tool-free perforation. These innovations reduce wear, improve seam quality, and enable faster, more consistent setups with minimal waste.
Additional benefits include digital solvent flow monitoring, oscillation control, and support for narrow web labels. Karlville designed the system for high efficiency, repeatability, and adaptability. This is especially true for short production runs and complex container shapes. Overall, the third-generation seamer represents a significant technological leap, offering enhanced performance, reduced maintenance, and excellent product quality.
Karlville launched a new technology platform in 2022 to produce high-volume shrink sleeves for integration into the PLUS series fully turret seamers. This technology is only shared via NDA. Karlville invites visitors to speak with them at the show.
